Haussmanhattan (Haussmann + Manhattan) is a project that imagines what would have been of Paris if the city had started building skyscrapers at the same time new yorkers did, around 1910-1930. Through digital photo editing, the project shows popular NYC buildings and sites, like the empire estate building or central park, inserted into the Parisian landscape.

Nowadays, building towers in Paris is considered the least viable solution and the worst thing to do. Most of the past experiences of construction tall buildings in the 1970’s are seen today as a complete disaster. This project experiences with trying to answer the following questions: what if Paris had built towers at the time of the great transformations of the prefect Haussmann? is the problem of towers actually a problem of architectural vocabulary?
